The Fluffy Corgi. What is it?
The fluffy Pembroke Corgi Welsh is a genetic variation of the traditional Pembroke Corgi with the difference being a genetic gene called the ‘fluffy gene’.
We won’t get too sciencey on you but basically both parents must carry this gene to get a litter of Fluffy Corgis! Something else that may surprise you, while their coat does require regular brushing, they typically shed less than their short haired counterparts.
The fluff-gene is a rescessive gene and there are no increased health risks associated with the variation, they do require regular brushing to maintain the beauty of their coat but if you’re up to a bit of maintenance, this variation really is a gorgeous option. Their coats are long and feathery with a beautiful soft feel to them.
Looking back a wee bit at history, the coat was not traditional bred. Pembroke Corgi Welsh’s are a herding breed and the fluffy coat was deemed undesirable in the working world but they do naturally occur in the breed and if you’re not looking to do herding or traditional farm work with your Corgi, the Fluffy Corgi may be the right fit for you.

Chanel is prim & proper girl. She is the first fluffy Corgi to join our TGC program. Chanel is a very independent gal. She is very spunky, playful, cuddly & goofy. She is a very quick learner and loves to learn new things. Chanel is currently starting her career in Scent work and Barnhunt. We hope to start her in agility and rally obedience this Spring.

Titus is the new stud in the house. He is a charming young man that is eager to learn and please. He is very adventurous and loves to explore especially when he gets to use his nose. He is a calm, strong willed , quick learner and a total lover. Titus has started his career in nose work earlier last year and has completed his Level 1 Cwags Scent Patrol , level 2 Cwags Scent Detective Titles and many more. He is in the process of completing his Cwags Level 5 , 6 and Ace titles and Ckc Excellent Titles in Nose work. Titus is currently working towards his Open Barn Hunt title and Novice titles for Obedience and Rally.
